8 Weeks

I was 8 weeks along yesterday and I still need to get the hubby to take a picture.  Of course at this stage in the game, I will avoid the face shots.

This week fingers and toes are starting to fully form as well as elbows.  The intestines are now forming inside the umbilical cord and the eyes, ears and tip of the nose are visible on the face.  In the brain, nerve cells are branching out to connect with one another, forming primitive neural pathways.  And the baby is now about the size of a kidney bean.

My first thought is that knowing I am growing a real human inside my belly, how can anyone ever question the existence of God.  A baby the size of a bean with eyes, fingers, toes, and ears.  I am in awe of the entire process.
