Cleaning Schedule

All too often as mothers we are constantly trying to find the right balance between caring for our children and spending enough time with them and still getting everything else done. Cleaning and laundry often go by the way side as there are just not enough hours in the day.

Thankfully with a little planning, you can find the time to get everything done. One thing that works best for me is a cleaning schedule. I have a set schedule that I follow that breaks the housework up into days of the week while still leaving my weekends free to spend with my family.

Monday: Clean both bathrooms.
Tuesday: Clean the living room.
Wednesday: Clean the kitchen.
Thursday: Clean the master bedroom.
Friday: Clean the kids rooms.

Of course laundry is a daily occurrence here and I do at least one load a day to stay on top of it. But I have found this schedule works great for me. It gives me one goal a day of what I want to get cleaned. And by following this list regularly I have found that the rooms stay tidy from week to week.

With 2 small children and 2 dogs I also make sure to have the carpets cleaned at least once a year. I look forward to the time of year when I hire a carpet cleaner. My carpets always come out looking new again and smell amazing.

What tricks do you use to make sure you get your cleaning done?
