Coffee Filter Flowers

I am always on the look out for craft ideas to do with Genghis. We had been talking a couple weeks ago about how girls really like to get flowers. So yesterday he decided he wanted to make his Grandma some flowers. I don’t drink much coffee in the summer so I had a big stack of coffee filters. And we made some flowers.

What you need:

5 coffee filters per flower.
1 green pipe cleaner per flower.
Food coloring.
Medicine dropper.
Large cookie sheet.

*Don’t forget the goofy kid.

Place 2 or 3 coffee filters on the cookie sheet, use the medicine dropper to color the filters with the food coloring. The more you use and the longer you let it sit, the more vibrant the colors will be.

Move to the side and let them dry. Continue until all your filters are colored and dry.

Stack filters in groups of 5.

Fold the filters accordion style. Then secure around the middle with a pipe cleaner, leaving a longer end for the stem. Carefully pull the layers of coffee filters apart and spread out to make the flower.

Viola. You now have some pretty coffee filter flowers sure to make any girl smile!
