Rally for Recess with Dannon

As the mom of a school aged child I know how very important it is for children to have recess everyday. No matter how you decide to school your children, free play is a vital part of their development. But there are many school’s across the country that are actually cutting out recess. Did you know that In the past twenty years, children have lost an average of 8 hours of recess a week, and some schools no longer provide any play time for students.

Government and public health agencies recommend all children engage in at 60 minutes of mild to strenuous activity each day. Cutting recess is a way to make sure our children are not getting the proper exercise they need.

Dannon Danimals is out to change that with their Rally for Recess program. From now until February 8, 2012 when you purchase specially marked packages of Dannon Danimals you will receive a code that can be entered online to help win playground equipment for your child’s school.

Rally for Recess will put school against school in a nationwide challenge in which 5 schools will win new playground equipment and an all day recess celebration. Through February 8, 2012 purchasers can find codes on Danimals packaging (or free by mail) to enter and register their school online. The top school in each of five categories with the most codes registered wins.

We were able to try out Danimals for this post and everyone loved them. Genghis loved that the packaging was colorful and smaller sized just for him. I love that it is full of protein, Vitamin D, and calcium. They also contain no high fructose corn syrup and no artificial flavors or colors. So not only am I making sure Genghis is getting something he needs, I can rest easy knowing he is not getting anything he doesn’t need.

I wrote this review while participating in a campaign by Mom Central Consulting on behalf of Danimals and received a gift card to facilitate my review and a promotional item to thank me for taking the time to participate.
