Rockin Green Review and Giveaway

When I decided I wanted to do cloth diapers with this baby, I had a million questions. Luckily, I also have a very amazing group of friends who walked me through the basics. But I never gave a second thought to what we would use to wash all these diapers in. You can ask 20 different people what they recommend and you will get 20 different answers. However you cannot deny the popularity of Rockin Green.

So when I had the chance to do a review for Rockin Green, I was beyond excited. One of the things I love about Rockin Green is that they have different formulas depending on your water type. We have very hard water here so I went with the ‘Hard Rock’ detergent. I was not disappointed.

When switching to Rockin Green from any other detergent you may notice some stink or problems with repelling. This is completely normal.

If you are switching from a clean rinsing detergent, you may have little to no trouble switching to Rockin’ Green. If you are using something like Tide however, you may experience some problems as the built up soap is drawn to the surface of your diapers. Even diapers that appeared to be clean before switching, may suddenly become stinky the first few washes with Rockin’ Green. This is totally normal, and will improve with continued use. Some people may even experience rashes and repelling as the old detergent is being flushed out. To speed up the process, try Rockin’ an overnight soak with 3 Tbs of Rockin’ Green followed by several washes with nothing. Repeat the process until your diapers are fresh smelling again.

I was lucky and we had no problems with stink or repelling. I was able to rock the Rockin Green with no issues. The only complaint I have is that the fragrance does not last long. Rockin Green comes in so many wonderful scents and when you first wash the diapers they smell amazing. But by the time they are done drying, the scent is gone. It may be due to the second rinse though.

Rockin Green comes in three formulas, soft, classic and hard rock. It is also safe for cloth diapers and has phosphate free ingredients.
