Edy’s Ice Cream and a Good Cause a #ReasontoSmile with #Giveaway

It is summer and that means long hot days and ice cream. Yay for ice cream.

Did you know that in 1984, President Ronald Reagan designated July as National Ice Cream Month and the third Sunday of the month as National Ice Cream Day? In honor of National Ice Cream month we celebrated as best we knew how, by eating some ice cream.

Edy’s is one of our favorite go to ice cream brands. I love the variety they have and the quality is wonderful. And just in time for summer and National Ice Cream month, Edy’s has introduced 4 new limited edition flavors. Limited Edition means they are only here for a short time so you better hurry up and get yours!

Take the Cake.
Yellow cake flavored light ice cream with a blue frosting swirl and multi colored sprinkles. It is the classic combo of cake and ice cream all in one! Available in Slow churned Light Ice Cream.

German Chocolate Cake Spectacular.
Chocolate ice cream loaded with brownie pieces and a caramel coconut swirl. This is the perfect way to have your decant cake and eat it too. Available in Grand and Slow Churned Light Ice Cream. Can I just add that this one is my favorite of the ones I was able to try. It is so rich and creamy and it has the perfect amount of coconut. Run, don’t walk, and get some of this before it is gone.

Sunny Salted Caramel Pretzel.
Vanilla ice cream with a salted caramel swirl and pieces of pretzels. I am a huge fan of all things salted caramel so this one is screaming my name. Edy’s says it is probably the greatest flavor combination in the history of the world and I would have to agree. Available in Grand and Slow Churned Light Ice Cream.

3 Stripes You’re Out.
Vanilla ice cream with blueberry and strawberry swirl. This ice cream screams America in each bite. Available in Grand Ice Cream.

Now before we start talking flavors, lets talk about what Edy’s Slow Churned Light Ice Cream is. With all the creamy goodness you would expect from regular ice cream, this little beauty has half the fat and 1/3 fewer calories. It is available in more than 20 flavors that you know and love, such as Rocky Road and Mint Chocolate Chip and even 3 of the 4 new limited edition flavors. So that means if you are watching what you eat but still want a treat, the Slow Churned Light Ice Cream is a better for you option. And you don’t have to sacrifice the flavors you know and love!

Now on to the good stuff. I searched high and low for the Sunny Salted Caramel Pretzel ice cream and I admit I am mad at all my local stores. Not one of them carried it! They did make up for it with the German Chocolate Cake Spectacular and the Take the Cake varieties but I am kind of holding a grudge.

Those little faces however ain’t mad at anyone. Check out those smiles!

And speaking of smiles, this summer Edy’s is partnering with Operation Smile to make possible 500 reconstructive surgeries for children around the globe suffering from cleft lip, cleft palate and other facial deformities. But in order to do this, they need your help.

Until September 31st Edy’s will post every couple of weeks on Facebook encouraging fans to help donate to Operation Smile. Each ‘A Reason To Smile‘ post features different methods of participation. Everything from liking a status and sharing to commenting on a picture or status. These simple activities, that we all do a hundred times of day on Facebook anyway, are ensuring that Edy’s meets their goal of donating up to $125,000 to Operation Smile this year.
