I have been racking my brain for the last few days trying to figure out how I would describe happiness. The dictionary describes happiness as:
1. obsolete : good fortune : prosperity
2. a : a state of well-being and contentment : joy
b : a pleasurable or satisfying experience
But I think it is so much more than being content or having a pleasurable experience. I think happiness can be a state of mind. I have found that for me happiness comes when I am doing something. Physical exercise, dance parties with the kids, and even time spent reading my Bible all invoke feelings of happiness that not only come about when I am doing one of those things but tends to linger for the rest of the day.
Being active and healthy definitely goes hand in hand with happiness for me.
This is where Gaiam TV comes in with the Connect 2 Happiness promotion.
What is Gaiam TV?
Gaiam TV is the first streaming video subscription service designed to reach those interested in health and happiness. With over 2,000 titles, Gaiam TV is like Netflix for the mind, body and spirit!
*Instant Access, 24/7 Convenience*: Gaiam TV’s entire library of thought provoking movies, top documentary films and fitness videos is available anytime, anywhere. Streaming capabilities for Gaiam TV include personal computers, iPads and smartphones.
*Free to Try*: Gaiam TV’s $9.95 per month subscription fee allows subscribers to stream unlimited content. The subscription to Gaiam TV is no strings attached; there is no commitment, and members can cancel at anytime. Gaiam TV offers a free 10-day trial.
I’ve had the last few days to check out Gaiam TV and all they have to offer and I am impressed.
Besides asking thought provoking questions each day such as ‘What makes you happy’, ‘What are you passionate about’, and ‘How can you bring more of that into your life’ it also features a huge selection of videos not only for your body, but also for your mind.
At anytime I can find TV Series or documentaries on anything from Religion and Spirituality to Metaphysics and even personal development.
What I love the most is that 24 hours a day/ 7 days a week I have access to a huge variety of fitness and even yoga videos. Like most people I continue to want to be healthier in the new year. An increase in physical activity makes me happy. Gaiam TV helps me with that by letting me pick out a video and do some great cardio exercises in the morning along with relaxing yoga videos in the evening.
I don’t have to follow a gym’s schedule for classes. I don’t have to worry about finding someone to watch the kids. Gaiam TV is there for me when I have time. And that alone makes me happy.
Try Gaiam TV’s Connect 2 Happiness for Yourself.
Gaiam TV offers a free 10 day trial with absolutely no strings attached. If you decide to continue with the service it is only $9.95 per month. And you can cancel at anytime.
What makes you happy?

I think this might be up my daughter’s alley more than mine.
