Nine years ago today I married my best friend.
In a funny turn of events I asked him to marry me. It’s true.
But in his defense we had a long 10 year on again, off again relationship. He had asked me to marry him before and I always said yes. But for one reason or another it never happened. He told me once that if we were ever going to get married, I would have to ask him.
And I did. Late one night on January 18, 2004 I asked. He thought I was joking but he said yes.
A short 3 days later and we were married. Our honeymoon consisted of me moving in with him. Then by that Friday we were both back to work.
It was quick. It was a whirlwind. I wouldn’t change any of it for the world.
Because on that day I married my soul mate.

That it was. I remember I worked the day/night before the wedding. It was not fun trying to manage a restaurant and plan a last minute wedding. But in the end it was perfect.
