Think for a minute of your child. Now think of 4 of their closest friends. Can you picture them?
Now tell me which one is hungry!
More than one in five children, including more than one in four Latino children, in the U.S. may not know where their next meal is coming from.
That’s nearly 16 million children, a number that could fill 8,000 playgrounds!
Children who experience even intermittent struggles with hunger may suffer serious, long-term consequences to their health, well-being and educational achievement. What’s more, being hungry robs kids of the promise of childhood – the ability to play, grow and learn.
Luckily though there are some companies who know of this and look for ways to do something about it.
ConAgra Foods has teamed up with P&G and Feeding America to end child hunger!
Through the Child Hunger Ends Here campaign, ConAgra will give up to 7 million meals to hungry children.
You can get involved and help make a difference in the life of a hungry child. Just look for the red pushpin on participating product packaging for a code. For every 8-digit code entered at www.ChildHungerEndsHere.com from March-August 2014, ConAgra Foods or P&G, respectively, will donate the monetary equivalent of one meal to Feeding America.
You can also help support Child Hunger Ends Here by downloading the new single from Hunter Hayes, ‘Invisible’. For every download of Hunter’s new single, “Invisible,” on iTunes, Child Hunger Ends Here will donate the monetary equivalent of one meal to the nation’s leading hunger-relief charity, Feeding America, up to 1 million meals.
One of the fastest and easiest ways to learn more about getting involved is to join the Child Hunger Ends Here Facebook community at Facebook.com/ChildHungerEndsHere or follow the news on Twitter and Instagram at @ChildHungerEnds.
Tomorrow morning I am heading out to do some shopping at Kroger. While there I can help feed a hungry child by buying items that my family normally uses anyway. Check out some of the products that qualify for the Child Hunger Ends Here campaign with a great deal at Kroger.
