#DIY Fireworks T-Shirt #Craft

We are getting ready for the 4th of July here and ready to celebrate in grand style. OK, truth be told we don’t have any grand plans but that doesn’t mean that we can’t pretend.

I have been wanting to make 4th of July tie-dyed t-shirts for awhile now but just haven’t had the time to sit down and do it. So we are going to add that to next years list and instead we went with these simple but fun fireworks shirts.

DIY t-shirt

You will need:

White t-shirts in any style
Red and Blue fabric paint
8 to 10 pipe cleaners
Cardboard or heavy paper

Place your cardboard between the layers of the shirt so the paint doesn’t bleed through to the back.

Take half of your pipe cleaners and fold in half then twist to keep them together. Fan the ends out to make a star burst shape.

Place your paint in a shallow bowel and then dip your pipe cleaners in the paint.

Press down on the shirt. If you gently press you will have a lighter color with some broken lines. Pressing harder will make thicker lines.

Rotate the pipe cleaners and use both colors to form your fireworks shape.

Allow to dry at least over night and then wash in cold water before wearing.

And just like that you are ready for the 4th of July.
