I don’t know about you but once you find out you are pregnant you become anxious to know if it will be a boy or a girl. Or at least I do.
Unfortunately the only way to know for sure is to have the baby. Ultrasounds have been known to be wrong or baby will not cooperate and show the goods. So while you wait to find out for sure what you are having, there are some fun gender predictions that you can use to try and determine what you will be having.
With my first both my husband and mom were so certain I was having a boy I never questioned it. They were both right.
When I was pregnant with my second my husband and I both thought it was another boy. It was our first born who would tell everyone that he wanted a brother but it was a girl. Turns out he was right.
Like to sleep on your left side? You will have a boy. Like to sleep on your right? You are going to have a girl.
I have always been a left side sleeper. And I have one of each. So for me this test was correct 50% of the time.
What you crave could be an indicator of what you are having. It is said that cravings for citrus fruits mean you are having a girl. I know with Miss Stalin I wanted spicy fajitas and fresh fruit all of the time! Citrus fruits were a huge favorite.
It is also said that if you crave salty foods, you are having a boy. Craving sweets, chocolate or candy, then you are having a girl.
The Hair Test
Hang a ring using a piece of your husbands hair. Hold the ring over your belly. If it moves in a circle you are having a girl. If the ring moves from side to side you are having a boy.
Japanese Birth Chart
Things like the Japanese Birth Chart allow you enter the month each parent was born as well as the month you conceived then it will tell you if you are having a boy or a girl. I tried it for each of mine and both times it gave the correct result. Hmmm……
Stir some Drano into your urine. If the mixture turns green, it’s a boy.
If you have morning sickness all day, it’s a girl. While studies have found that women with a severe form of morning sickness called hyperemesis gravidarum are more likely to give birth to girls, there are always exceptions.
My first pregnancy was my worst in terms of morning sickness. I actually lost 19 pounds while pregnant due to being so sick. He was a boy. My second pregnancy was much more mild and turned out to be a girl.
Have you tried any of these gender prediction tests? Did they work for you?
