Poulan Pro Riding Lawn Mowers — Yellow Tennessee

Poulan Pro Riding Lawn Mowers

May of last year we moved from a spot where the lawn was taken care of and cut for us to having to care for 6 acres. Luckily we have a lot of trees so in total we are really only taking care of 3.5 acres. (Only 3.5 acres!)

With this we needed a lawn mower. And no one has the kind of time to be mowing with a push mower. A riding mower was a must. I admit, we tried to cheap out. We went with a well known brand, but bought used. After we sunk as much as we paid for it into it for repairs, it died. Thankfully it waited to die until late fall so we didn’t have to replace it right away.

We knew we would not buy used again. And then I was offered the chance to review a mower from Poulan Pro.

The Poulan and Poulan Pro lines of equipment are backed by a long heritage of innovation that began in 1944. This history is reflected in our line of powerful riding mowers, lawn mowers, tillers, trimmers, blowers, snow throwers, and chain saws.

Four cycle and two cycle engines from the industry’s leading suppliers make Poulan and Poulan Pro outdoor equipment long lasting and powerful. You can depend on our tools to help you get the best looking lawn in the neighborhood.

Poulan Pro PB155G42:

The Poulan Pro PB155G42 showed up at our house a couple of weeks ago. And we were excited.

I’m not sure what I was expecting but I thought it was amusing that a lawn mower actually showed up in a box. Granted it was a wood box, but a box nonetheless.

Time from getting it off the truck to getting the box open was about 20 minutes.

Set up:

Set up was a breeze. My husband remarked that it took just about as long to get it out of the box as it did to set it up.

The seat had to be attached and a few other small parts had to be added. The instructions were very clear and easy to understand. All in all the set up took about 30 minutes.

After set up, the deck has to be leveled. This ensures an even cut when mowing the lawn. Instructions for leveling the mower deck is included and it is simple to do. It only took 10 minutes to level the deck.

From delivery to the first start up of the mower was right at an hour. It was quick and painless and I appreciate that.

The Poulan Pro PB155G42 features a

  • 15.5HP Briggs & Stratton engine
  • a 42-inch cutting deck
  • a 6 speed lever driven transmission
  • 18-inch turning radius
  • 11-inch mid back seat
  • key start
  • 1.5 gallon gas tank
  • steel front axle
  • headlights
  • Turf Saver 15-inch front and 20-inch rear tires

Poulan Pro

Stay tuned for a review of how this mower actually cuts when it decides to stop raining.

I received a Poulan Pro riding mower in exchange for my honest thoughts and opinions.
