What Is My Dream Job and Why?

Part 7 in the series 30 Things My Kids Should Know About Me.

What is my dream job? Why?

Growing up I wanted to be a wide range of things. A lawyer, a judge, a nurse, a mom. In some ways I am living my dream. I am often a judge, a nurse, and I am always a mom. But things also change somewhat.

30 Things my kids should know about me

While I will always be your mom, you won’t always need me like you do now. Someday you will grow up and move on. And I always wonder what I will do with myself then.

So my dream job would be to open up an art studio. I used to have the building picked out but it is back home, just outside of St Louis. The commute would kill me.

Ideally I’d have 2 floors. The first floor would be a gallery where I would showcase up and coming artists. The top floor would be where the magic happened. I would offer art classes to children. Any ages and no one would be turned away if they didn’t have any money.

Some of the most fun I have currently is when I am working with you and your sister creating art. Drawing, painting, coloring. It doesn’t matter what we are doing, I always have a blast.

  1. What a sweet job to have. (I actually know someone who is doing that and she loves it!)
