Growing up, I can remember that my mom always volunteered in our community whether it was as a Sunday School teacher in church or softball coach and at one time, she was even hospice volunteer. Watching her give back to the community through volunteering really instilled in me the importance of serving others. In turn, my kids are learning the same from me.
We often joke that if we don’t watch it, we’ll volunteer our lives away. But, when I stop and think about that, there is probably no better way I’d like to spend my life than serving those around me.

Although my family has volunteered with various other organizations throughout the years, Habitat for Humanity is on our list to check out because of all the of the wonderful things they are doing for families.
