Kid Friendly Hotel at a Great Price. Country Inn and Suites

Every so often it is nice to get away for no reason other than to get away. Last week we took a little mini vacation and headed down to Jackson, Mississippi for the week.

We stayed at the Country Inn and Suites in Pearl, Mississippi and I was really impressed with this hotel. It was not super fancy, but we had tons of room and were very well taken care of.

Having 2 kids and 2 adults in one hotel room can be crowded. We had plenty of room.

But first lets talk about all the hotel has to offer.

On each side of the front entrance, they have a nice little porch set up with benches and rocking chairs. It was a great spot to sit outside in the shade and let the kids have a little spot to play. They both loved the rocking chair.

They also have an indoor pool with a separate hot tub. The pool starts out at 3 feet deep and increases to 5 feet deep. It was large enough to actually swim in but small enough that it was not hard to keep up with the kids.

The pool also opened up to an outdoor patio. This patio had a couple of tables, chairs, 2 charcoal bbq grills, and a grassy fenced in area. You could easily cook a meal outdoors and have an area for the kids to run and play.

The hotel also has a fitness room but I didn’t get a picture of it.

In the main lobby is a nice seating area and a bookshelf full of lots of children’s books and a few adult books. These books are free to all hotel guests. While we didn’t take advantage of the books, it was a very nice touch.

Breakfast is included in your stay every morning and they have a nice dining area or you can grab something and take it back to your room. Choices include everything from pastries, to oatmeal, fresh fruit, make your own waffles, yogurt, cereal, and a hot selection that changes daily. We had everything from biscuits, sausage, bacon, eggs, fried potatoes, and french toast. They also offer coffee, tea, hot chocolate, milk and a selection of juices.

Our room itself was huge. As soon as you walked in the door on the left there was a wall of cabinets with a small sink and lots of counter space. We had a mini fridge as well as a microwave. Having a spot to store milk, juice and snacks was invaluable. And the sink came in very handy for washing out sippy cups.

To the right was a closet and the bathroom.

The living room area had a couch that also pulled out into a bed. It also had a king sized bed, a desk, an end table, and a TV. My husband and I claimed the bed in the living room.

Besides having all of these features, it was very well laid out and had a lot of empty floor space. Perfect to allow the kids to have room to play.

This suite also had an adjoining bedroom. We let the kids take this room. It had a closet, a king sized bed, 2 end tables and a TV. There was a perfect corner in the room for Miss Stalin’s portable bed and Genghis was in heaven having that big bed all to himself.

Rooms run anywhere from $73 a night up to $120 a night for the whirlpool suites.

If you find yourself in the Jackson, Mississippi area, make sure you stop in Country Inn and Suites. You will not regret it.
