Getting Fit the Right Way with #Shaklee180

You may remember my post a week ago or so that was telling you all how excited I was to be one of the new Shaklee 180™ bloggers. Well most of the other bloggers started on March 1st and I had ever intention of joining them, then we all got fun colds. So I spent most of the first few days of the month laying on the couch with my babies and not doing anything else.

But today, I was feeling good enough to give it a go! And so far I have to say that I really like it. I have done other diets before and for the first 2 weeks I admit I was starving! It took all my will power to not eat everything I saw. This one is different.


I am allowed a shake or meal bar for both breakfast and lunch, a snack bar or other low calorie snack before lunch and dinner, and a healthy dinner. Well I have to say that I was not expecting much. You mix up the shake mix with either one cup of water or milk and drink.

One cup?

That is not going to work. I will be starving to death. And we all know how well starvation diets work.

I am thrilled to say that the Shaklee shakes are different. I didn’t even need any of my snacks today. Seriously one cup of milk, shake mix and I was so full I didn’t think about eating again until normal meal time.

Now here I sit at almost midnight and I am still stuffed from dinner. I call that a great success.

In order to stay accountable to myself I am putting all kinds of things out there that I normally don’t share.

The dreaded before pictures:

The starting weight:

March 5, 2013: 164 pounds. To be honest, I thought it was more. I don’t tend to step on scales much.

The starting measurements:

Left arm: 11 inches.
Right arm: 11.5 inches.
Bust: 42 inches.
Waist: 35 inches.
Hips: 42 inches.

I have never ever measured myself. My arms surprised me. I don’t know why but I thought they would be bigger. *Note, when you are going to measure yourself make sure the tape is on the inches side and not centimeters. I almost passed out when I measured my waist.

My Expectations

I am honestly not sure what my ideal body weight is. I have always been one who goes by how I feel and how my clothes fit. And I have always been a confidant girl no matter what size I was. But I am weird in that I like my body better in a bra and undies than I do fully clothed. I’d like to change that so that I like what I see even when I am dressed. I was a size 8 when I got married 9 years ago and I would love to be there again. Currently I am in a size 12 but they are big. Size 10 is bit too tight for comfort, but I can fit in them. So I guess ideally I would like to go down 1.5 sizes.

20 pounds and I will be ecstatic.
