LG Art of The Pixel

LG New Media Competition 2014

This year, LG Electronics is holding its very first-ever New Media Competition for aspiring artists at the top art schools in the country. Students are being asked to create still and motion digital artwork for display on LG’s Ultra HD and OLED TVs. One finalist from each school will receive a $5,000 cash prize plus a trip to a gala event in New York City, where the top winner will receive an additional $5,000!

Pixel, noun \ˈpik-səl, -ˌsel\
any of the small discrete elements that together constitute an image (as on a television or computer screen)

As you can imagine, each individual pixel is important when it comes to color and clarity of the images on the screen. Digital art requires a display technology, and LG is pleased to provide the canvas for today’s digital artwork with our Ultra HD and OLED TVs.

The public will be allowed to vote for their favorite design once a day. Voting begins on July 1st and goes until July 31st. Final judging begins on August 1st and runs until August 10th. The final winner will be announced in New York City in September.

So take a minute, support some up and coming talent and vote for your favorite design.
