Non Alcoholic Sangria #hometailgate #recipe

Ah, it is almost fall and you know what that means, don’t you? Football has begun. I have learned since moving to the south that college and even high school football is as big of a deal as professional.

Your favorite pizza brands, Tony’s®, Red Baron® and Freschetta® are kicking off Tailgate at Your Place. It is a great new tradition and virtual hub where you can earn sweepstakes entries for the chance to WIN prizes totaling $150,000! Explore recipes, college football trivia, party tips, games and more!

But if you are anything like me, the big game also means a fun menu. Do you know what you will serve? No matter what it is, you are going to need a tasty beverage to wash it all down with.

One of our favorite things to make here is a Fruit Sangrai. It is perfect to Tailgate at Your Place. This is a favorite for two reasons. It can be made using whatever fruit you want so it is easily customized for seasonal fruits. And the best part is there is no alcohol, so everyone can have some.

Non Alcoholic Fruit Sangria

1 lemon (cut into thin, round slices)

1 orange (cut into thin, round slices)

1 lime (cut into thin, round slices)

1 quart strawberries (cut into slices)

1 gala apple (cored and cut into small chunks)

2 cups boiling water

2 black tea bags

2 cinnamon sticks

1/2 cup sugar

3 cups fruit juice (I like using Tangerine/Orange)

3 cups carbonated water

And because it was in season I even threw in some watermelon with this batch. So good!

Add cinnamon sticks and tea bags to boiling water and let seep for at least 5 minutes.

Discard tea bags and add sugar. Stir to dissolve.

In a large pitcher, combine tea, cinnamon sticks, fruit juice, and all the fruit. Refrigerate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight.

Right before serving stir in 3 cups carbonated water and serve in glasses over ice.

I just found out that my Fruit Sangria is going to be going head to head against another drink recipe on the Tailgate at Your Place site. The winner gets mad bragging rights. So I would love it if you would head over to Tailgate at Your Place and vote for my drink.

Of course, after you vote, you will need to head out to the store and get all the goodies needed to make this for your next big game!

While you are looking around the Tailgate at Your Place site, be sure to enter to win one of the prizes totaling $150,000! Don’t miss out. Visit www.TailgateAtYourPlace.com now (through 1/10/2015) and begin by designing your virtual living room!
