It is never an easy thing to consider what type of legacy you will leave behind when you die. But for better or worse, everyone leaves behind some sort of legacy. Will yours be one that has impacted other lives? Another aspect to consider though is the legacy you leave behind has its roots in what you start in your life.
Medtronic is devoted to help you start living your legacy now. Through the Bakken Invitation, Medtronic is recognizing 10 individuals who have faced life changing medical conditions and have used that to start living their legacy now!
The Bakken Invitation nominees are 10 individuals who looked at a life changing medical condition and instead of dealing with it and then continuing with their lives as before, they instead found a way to create a living legacy.

Personally one of the most inspiring nominees is Clint Benson Doyle from Hawaii. At the young age of 2 Clint suffered his first episode of sudden cardiac arrest. Can you imagine being 2 years old and going into cardiac arrest?
By the age of 19 Clint had an ICD or Implantable Cardioverter Defibrillator put in. It allowed Clint to see that it didn’t matter what your circumstances are, you can make a difference in the world.
“My passion for art has led me to be an advocate for youth and for people with disabilities, to give them every opportunity to discover their gift and strength. I love to lead art classes with Mana’olana Hope, doing the “Created to be Creative” curriculum that was, in part, inspired by my life story.
“By passing on the skills I have learned, I feel I can positively inspire “heart-brain” connections in these kids, including the development of creativity. Art gives us a lifelong developmental skill, a combination of creative and solution-based thinking that is vital in today’s world.”
AS one of the Bakken Initiative nominees, Clint will receive a $20,000 grant for Mana’olana Hope Inc. This will allow them to continue to work with people with disabilities and encouraging them that all things are possible.

When we bought our home last year the goal has always been to be able to plant lots of fruit trees and a huge garden. In turn we want to not only teach others how to garden and care for these things but also be able to give fresh fruit and vegetables to those who are most in need.
We prayed and asked how we could use our home and land to help others and bring glory to God. We believe this is one way we can do that.
