What are 5 passions you have?

30 Things my kids should know about me

Part 8 in the series 30 Things My Kids Should Know About Me.

What are 5 passions you have?

1. Homeschooling.

There are days that I want nothing more than to go running down the driveway and put you both on the first yellow bus that passes by the house. But that is true for any homeschooling mom on certain days. Overall, I love nothing more than having my babies at home with me. I love watching you grow and learn. I am so proud of the progress you have made and I admit to being proud of the role I played in that. My biggest fear when we started was that I wouldn’t even be able to teach you to read. Now you are buying the Lord of the Rings books and reading them on your own.

2. My Children.

I’m not sure that this one is so odd or any different from any other parent. But the two of you are something I am very passionate about. I would do anything for you. And I want nothing more than to make sure you both grow up knowing that you are fully capable to do anything that you want to do.

3. My Relationship with God.

The older I get the more I am giving into the fact that I am a better mom and wife when I focus on my relationship with God before anything else. Getting up early during the week and reading my Bible while I drink that first cup of coffee is becoming habit. And it sets a tone for how the rest of the day goes. Everything else just falls into place behind it.

4. Pro-Life.

We believe passionately that life begins at conception. Because of this we avoid some items that do not support that same belief. Medicines that contain aborted stem cells will not be used by us. Companies that support abortion, are not supported with our time or money.

5. Art

I wrote last week about my dream job being an art studio that taught art to kids. I day dream of having enough spare time to paint again. It is the one time I am relaxed, not over thinking, not stressed, just in my own world in which nothing else matters.
