Glamping: is it family-friendly?

I am a huge fan of camping. It doesn’t get much better than this: roughing it in a rustic tent or cabin after a day of whitewater rafting and hitting the trails with the kids, starting up the BBQ, and grabbing the guitar for a campfire jam. Camping is the great American pastime along with fishing and baseball – you know summer has truly started when it’s time to head off into the woods for a weekend of fun! However, more and more people are looking to trade in pitching a tent and instead book a glamping site.

Glamping isn’t just the ultimate romantic getaway. It’s the ultimate family escape, perfect for nature lovers, adrenaline junkies and luxury campers alike. With the lure of nature beckoning without having to sacrifice the luxury and comforts of home, glamorous camping is the way to get the best of both worlds.

Swimming, cycling, hiking, horseback riding – you name it, there are tons of exciting outdoor activities to enjoy. Make the most of what nature has to offer, from bustling communities just outside some of the world’s best national parks or secluded retreats miles away from civilization. Tree-house glamping in huge redwood forests, cozy cabins overlooking mountain ranges, sturdy gers bracing against the plains. With so many diverse destinations to experience, getting in touch with nature doesn’t get more appealing than this. It’s a great time to disconnect from our tablets, smartphones and other distractions and get out, get back to our roots, and spend some quality time with the family.

Glamping is the perfect setting for enjoying all our favorite pastimes as well as connecting on a healthy level. From building fires for roasting marshmallows to discovering new locales just steps away from the campsite, it’s a private, serene setting that makes an idyllic alternative to the more crowded resorts of mainstream tourism. As well as offering an off-the-beaten-track experience, glamping is one of the best eco-friendly vacations that are quickly becoming some of the most popular to hit niche tourism. The Outdoor Traveler YouTube features some of the hottest destinations that glamping has to offer. Outdoor Traveler are specialists in providing outdoor and adventure holidays, and browsing through their website and social media is a great way to get inspiration for your next trip.

The best part is that everything is already laid out for you and the family – no assembling tents or carrying your campsite around. Just grab your outdoor clothes, pack a few bathrobes, and get ready to relax and recoup.

If you’re looking for an energetic day out with the kids followed by a luxurious sleep beneath the stars, you just might want to consider one of the best grassroots niche ventures the tourism industry has dreamed up yet. Make a glamping trip your next family-friendly vacation.
