It seems that our craft area is out of control. I recently bought a decorative bench and put a lot of our items in there but there are things that the kids seem to use everyday and I need a better way to organize them. Even though we home school, the new start of every school year is when I try and get most organized. So when I was challenged with coming up with a DIY craft using Duck Tape, I knew that it was time to finally get our craft mess sorted out. I decided some sort of DIY Craft Caddy would be perfect.
Get Organized with a Duck Tape DIY Craft Caddy
To start I headed out to Hobby Lobby for some inspiration. I found this adorable wood crate that I knew would be perfect to hold the mess. Then I got to check out all the fun colors and patterns of Duck Tape. I decided to do two different crates, one for my son and one for my daughter. With my daughter in mind I found some perfect pink and unicorn patterned Duck Tape.
Now even though I am using this to organize our craft items, you can easily use them for any number of things. They would be perfect to hold pencils, paint brushes, scissors, or even smaller kitchen items. The possibilities are endless.
What you need:
Empty cans of various sizes
A wooden crate or other container
Duck Tape in your choice of patterns or colors
Once your cans are empty, remove the labels and clean well with soapy water, then dry.
Apply your Duck Tape to the can. Try and wrap it around as smoothly as possible. You can do all one color or pattern on each can or try and mix it up for a different look.
Add your craft supplies to the cans and viola, you now have an adorable but easy DIY Craft Caddy that will not only hold all your craft supplies but also look good while doing it.
